Job Description

General Summary:

The Beauty Advisor is responsible for driving sales while creating a positive shopping experience.

Essential Functions:

  1. Customer Service/Sales Building
    • Greet all customers who enter the department using Eyes, Hi’s and Help at all times
    • Develop relationships with customers to promote repeat visits and build sales
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, complaints; maintain customer confidentiality
    • Maintain knowledge of specific vendor products and services to assist customers in selecting the product that best meets their needs
    • Suggest additional products and services to customers (Up selling)
  2. Operations
    • Assist in training new cosmetic crew members
    • Complete all necessary training and certifications for the Beauty Advisor position (Aim certification/Vista, SMDI and SMDII), educate self on products regularly
    • Obtain all communication relative to the department from Store Manager
    • Complete “Beauty Care Department Walkthrough” on a weekly basis (cosmetic category review)
    • Organize and order Beauty supplies
    • Give feedback regarding the category to Manager and Beauty Advisor Coordinator
    • Follow all Loss Prevention measures
  3. Merchandise/Presentation
    • Lead and participate in cosmetic planogram team, ensure correct versions
    • Perform ordering procedures in the cosmetic category based on Area/Region guidelines (AIM)
    • Assist Store Manager in ordering promotional merchandise, order product for seasonal times of they ear based on Region/District trends
    • Process all product received for the cosmetic department, work overstock, remove old non-regularly carried product for return or markdown, re-merchandise, pull and process damages as needed

Marginal Functions:

  • Perform all front store functions as directed by the Store Manager

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of 2 years of related retail management experience
  • Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • load and unload deliveries
  • ability to lift 35 pound trays/cases to a height of 4 feet and move trays/cases from one location to another
